The Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Temple in Monmouth Junction is affiliated with the Vadtal Gadi, one of two main dioceses established by Lord Swaminarayan in the 19th century.
The Vadtal Gadi lineage dates back to the original temples founded by Lord Swaminarayan in Gujarat, India, in the 1820s. The modern Vadtal organization has expanded globally, with the temple in Monmouth Junction being part of this network. The first temple was established in 1824 and main deities are Sri Laxmi Narayan and Radha Rani.  This temple follows the Vadtal Gadi lineage.
