• Mission: To meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the Hindu-Jain community, preserve and promote the Hindu way of life, Vedic knowledge, and Yoga practices. It aims to embrace all sects (Pantha) of Hindu Dharma and the teachings of all great Rishi, Rishika, and Gurus of India.
• Services: The temple facilitates various forms of Hindu worship, including Satsung, Poojas, Bhajans, and Prayers for all Hindu denominations. It also promotes the study of Hindu scriptures like the Vedas, Upanishads, and Gita. Currently, daily activities are limited to small services performed by a volunteer priest. Larger festivals like Krishna Janmashtami and Diwali are celebrated, and the temple can accommodate up to 400 visitors for these events. Future plans include hiring a full-time priest from India and offering Hindu classes and meditation sessions.
• Deities: The sanctum displays several Hindu deities found throughout India. It also includes a portrait of a Jain tirthankara, reflecting the temple’s multi-cultural mission and the presence of a Jain community in Bloomington-Normal.
• Facilities: The temple includes a main hall, a stage for devotional performances, classrooms, a large conference room, and a kitchen equipped for preparing food for large gatherings. It also features an indoor exhaust fan and ventilation system to accommodate ceremonies requiring fire.

• History: Prior to the temple’s establishment, Hindus in Bloomington-Normal met in homes for bhajan sessions for 30 years. The idea of a temple gained momentum six years ago and was designed to be a multi-use facility, including meeting rooms for classes and yoga, and a stage for performances.
