The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a place of worship and community center for followers of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha faith. BAPS Swaminarayan mandirs nurture personal as well as collective worship through festivals, ceremonies, and cultural and spiritual assemblies. In addition to spiritual practices, BAPS mandirs teach arts, languages, music, and philosophy rooted in Hindu heritage. BAPS mandirs also organize walkathons, health fairs, blood drives, and other charitable efforts for local communities and causes.

The mandir is open for darshan (viewing of the deities) and worship with specific hours on weekdays and weekends:

Visitor information

  • Dress code: Visitors are expected to dress modestly, with tops covering the shoulders, chest, and upper arms, and bottoms (shorts, skirts, or dresses) extending at least to the knees.
  • Accessibility: The mandir features wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking, and restrooms.
  • Food: Visitors can enjoy Indian food and snacks from vendors on-site. 

Community activities

Beyond religious services, the mandir and its followers participate in various community-building and humanitarian services, including:

The Cherry Hill mandir, like other BAPS “Hari Mandirs,” was built using modern materials like concrete and steel and serves as a local worship and community center for devotees. This is in contrast to the larger “shikharbaddha mandirs,” such as the one in Robbinsville, which are built primarily of stone
