BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Minneapolis
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area was inaugurated in 2003 on the occasion of Shri Hari Navmi. It serves the local Swaminarayan Hindu community and is overseen by the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).The daily Aarti (the ritual of light) is performed in both the morning and evening.
Swaminarayan temples all across the world are inspired by Bhagwan Swaminarayan, who was a yogi and great soul born in late 18th century in India. He carried out major reforms in the society and millions of devotees have benefited from his teachings and path. Many temples have been created by devotees of this great soul which are spread all across the world. BAPS temples are modern day wonders which are a must visit place. Inauguration
- Establishment: The mandir was established through the efforts of the local
Minneapolis-St. Paul Satsang Mandal
, which had been conducting regular assemblies for many years.
- Murti-Pratishtha: The inauguration included a murti-pratishtha ceremony, where the sacred images of the deities were installed. Pujya Yagnavallabh Swami and other BAPS saints from the Midwest region performed the ceremony.
- Deities: The temple features murtis (sacred images) of Akshar Purushottam Maharaj, Radha-Krishna Dev, and the Guru Parampara (lineage of gurus).
- Offerings: A beautiful annakut, or offering of food, was presented to the deities during the inauguration.
- Attendance: The event was attended by many devotees and well-wishers.

- BAPS Organization: BAPS is a socio-spiritual Hindu faith rooted in the Vedas. It was established in 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj, following the teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
- Worship: Followers of BAPS worship Swaminarayan as God and his choicest devotee, Gunatitanand Swami, as Akshar.
- Accessibility: Like other BAPS temples, the mandir is open to visitors of all faiths. There is no entrance fee.
