- History: The Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple of San Antonio was established by a group of ardent devotees, rather than a single individual founder. The organization is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) community effort.
Key milestones in its establishment:
- December 2013: A devotional group was initially started by a group of devotees, who began conducting prayers and “bhajans” (devotional songs) in their homes.
- July 2014: The group opened the first temple in a leased commercial location.
- August 2016: Temple land was purchased at the current Babcock Rd location.
- December 1, 2019: The grand opening and consecration ceremony (Maha Khumbhabhishekam) for the permanent, newly constructed temple building took place at the current site.
