The Shiv Durga Hindu Temple in Aurora, Illinois, is a relatively new temple, established on February 8, 2019.
It was founded by the Hindu religious leader Mahant HH Shri Shantiprasadacharya (Shastriji) and his wife Smt. Uma Devi Nautiyal. The temple’s aim is to promote Sanatan dharma and its rituals, providing devotees with facilities to offer pujas to deities in a traditional Vedic manner.

The temple’s mission is to provide religious and spiritual services, promote educational, social, and cultural values, and foster interfaith outreach. They offer a place of worship, an educational and cultural center, and sponsor various activities. 

Deities and Services

The temple houses several deities, including Shri Ganesh Ji, Ram Darbar, Durga Mata, Shri Shiv Ji, Radha Krishna, and Shri Bala Ji. Services include daily prayers, yoga and meditation, Hindi and dance classes, and astrology services.

  • Monday – Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 AM – 1 PM, 4 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Thursday: 4 PM – 8 PM
  • Saturday: 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Sunday: 8:30 AM – 8 PM 

Events and Recognition

The Shiv Durga Hindu Temple organizes events for major Hindu/Indian festivals. They have been recognized by the City of Aurora for their community contributions.
