- Spiritual guidance: The establishment of the temple in New Jersey was initiated by Swami Muktajeevan, the spiritual leader of the Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, who visited the U.S. in the 1970s.
- Incorporation: Following his guidance, a board of trustees was incorporated in May 1988.
- Construction: Groundbreaking for the temple took place on August 29, 1998, with sacred images installed in 2001. The temple was built “from scratch” on land purchased in 1997.
